In 1935 when Norfolk poaching legend Frederick Rolfe was in his seventies, Lilias Riders Haggard wrote a book about his life as a poacher called 'I Walked by Night'.  In the book Rolfe said 'If I had my time to come over again I would still be what I have been - a poacher.  So I remain, Gentlemen, the Ex King of the Norfolk Poachers'.

Seventy years later Charlotte Paton investigated Frederick Rolfe's real life, comparing it with the account published in 1935.  In this dvd Charlotte shows how she went about her investigation and interviews people associated with Rolfe and his world.  There are also scenes of poaching skills.

This film has many memorable and beautiful scenes in which Rolfe's immersion in the countryside is evoked.
