This programme shows Scotland's farms as seen in original archive films from the early 1930s to the 1960s, many in colour with commentaries by veteran farmers.
The dvd consists of five films. 'In Good Heart' describes the farming year through the eyes of four farmers in the Highlands, the Borders, Ayrshire and Angus, plus a visit to the Royal Highland Show, 'They Made the Land' depicts the hard struggle to tame the land for agricultural use and 'Grain Harvest' which shows a field of oats being scythed to clear a path for horse drawn reaping.
'The Farmer's Boy' is about a young boy as he sees the prospects in farming over a year's activities and 'Winter on the Farm' looks at the variety of jobs done on a mixed farm.
