This four-part DVD documentary series looks in-depth at the farming year on an East Anglian arable farm, Clopton Green, with particular attention to crops and agronomy as well as machinery and other aspects of modern farming. Structured in seasonal order, this series encompasses everything from cultivation through to maintenance work. The series is partly presented by the farm manager, Steven Offord, who explains his decisions and the reasoning behind them.
Crops grown on the farm include wheat, spring barley, oilseed rape, sugar beet and spring beans. Crop walks within the programmes keep the viewer up to date with progress throughout the year. A wide range of machinery are also featured in this DVD set including Challenger, Massey Ferguson, Fendt and John Deere, with all the action captured comprehensively using unique camera angles.
Part Three starts with the wheat harvest, followed by the barley and beans. We also see the establishment and care of next year's oilseed rape.
Part Four concludes the story with wheat drilling, cultivations and the preparations for next year's crops. Plus we witness herbicide applications, sugar beet harvesting and the establishment of wheat after the beet.
