The Fendt tractor has gained itself an enviable reputation as a 'Rolls-Royce' amongst tractors.  With superb German engineering coupled with reliability, innovation and an extremely high level of sophistication, the Fendt tractor has always been at the forefront of tractor design and development.

This programme tells the entire story of these green machines, from the first of the highly successful Dieselross series right through to the Vario range of today.  It also tells the story of how a family run firm gained huge success through a quality product and how that product eventually became the jewel in the crown of American giant AGCO.

The tool carrier concept is a good example of a design taken further by Fendt than any other manufacturer, front axle suspension was used in the 1940s, the Turbomatik fluid clutch allowed smooth gear changes in the 1960s, electronicaly controlled hydraulic systems were introduced in 1984 and then the Vario stepless transmission changed how to drive tractors forever in the 1990s.

There is no doubt Fendt history is remarkable and this programme tells it through original archive footage and contemporary filming.
