A Life on the Land (Volume 1):  Farmer John Want shows how he runs a 350-acre arable and cattle farm.  He has been on the farm all his life and explains to Stephen Richmond how mechanisation has advanced over the years on his farm.  Filmed throughout the year, this dvd shows John at work, including mill-and-mixing cattle feed, drilling grass seed and beans, spraying, spreading fertiliser, cutting, baling and wrapping silage, harvesting winter wheat and baling the straw, combining beans, drilling winter cereals and ploughing.  There is plenty of footage of machinery in action, for John Want is a Ford and New Holland fanatic.

From the Driving Seat (Volume 2):  For nearly twenty years Stephen Richmond has worked for farmer John Raven on a 500-acre arable farm.  Stephen's dvd diary covers a typical farming year from January to December to include all the arable operations, from seedbed preparation to harvesting.  Machinery used includes Case IH, MF135, Case IH Axial-Flow 2788, John Deere and Claas.  Demonstration models are also featured as well as a special section on the MXM 120.  Stephen Richmond also talks about recent developments in machinery and farm practice.

The Last Harvest (Volume 3):  For the best part of a lifetime Ted Fenner has farmed his small corner of East Sussex.  The film begins as Ted takes care of his winter sown crops, fertilising and spraying the wheat, barley and oats.  Ted is a great fan of Massey Ferguson and the machinery on the farm consists of MF35, 135, 590 and 390.  Haymaking is featured with a New Holland conventional baler before moving on to the big task of the year - the cereal harvest.  For this the MF525 harvester is used and the corn is carted away by the 390 and 590 with small trailers.  A neighbour helps with the task by using his Ford TW15 and Claas Quadrant 1200 baler.  Ted also tells us about his farm and the farming year as well as crops of the past such as the hop harvest.  The film finishes as the grain is sold off the farm the following year, by which time Ted has retired.

The above DVDs can also be purchased individually from this website.
