These three 'specials' from the popular tv series Bygones presented by Dick Joice were all filmed in 1975. Through archive film, re-creations and interviews with retired farm workers, these programmes bring to life the experiences of farm workers before the First World War. Comprising The Harvest, The Horsemen and Gone to Burton episodes, we are offering these three dvds at the special offer price of £39.99.
Bygones: The Harvest is a portrait of an almost forgotten age, re-told by men in their eighties and nineties who took part in it, recalling harvests from before the First World War and brought to life in archive film and accurate re-stagings.
Bygones: The Horsemen features some remarkable retired farm workers talking about what it was like to work with horses at the turn of the century before the First World War, when the work of farms revolved around the fam horse.
Bygones: Gone to Burton shows how east anglian farm workers with little prospect of farm work in the winter, left the farms after harvest and went by train to work in the Burton maltings. James Knights and Stanley Whiting retrace their steps to Burton.
Alternatively all three dvds can be purchased individually from our website.
